Gen Kunihiro became Division COO, New LNG Ventures & Marketing Div., Natural Gas Group since April 2023, and is responsible for Mitsubishi Corporation’s LNG business development and delivery of integrated solutions across the entire gas / LNG value chain.
Gen has over twenty-years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Upon graduating from the Faculty of Law at Keio University he joined Mitsubishi Corporation and started his career on steel products export business. From early 2000’s his business focus shifted to oil and gas industry and worked on major LNG projects in Russia and Australia. In 2019, Gen was appointed General Manager of Global Marketing Department of Mitsubishi’s Natural Gas Business Division. In 2020, he assumed the role of President and COO of Diamond Gas International (DGI), which is Mitsubishi Corporation’s wholly owned LNG marketing, trading and shipping subsidiary in Singapore, and from 2022 until March 2023, he became Chairman and CEO of DGI.
Gen’s postings include a stint in Jakarta (1998-2003), Perth (2015-2018) and Singapore (2020-2023).
