STO - The emission of dangerous hydrocarbon vapours and their impact on the environment is an important concern for tank farm operators looking to ensure that their facilities meet local and international standards.
Focusing on the operation, maintenance, and safety of crude and product storage tanks, this 2-day course will cover the concepts and features of storage tank equipment, including Rim Gap Seal Systems, Internal Floating Roofs, and Aluminium Dome Roofs, as well as best practices and practical measures for controlling vapour emissions in line with international requirements.
LNGSTO - This one-day course offers a comprehensive insight into the basic design, construction, and operation of LNG storage tanks, expounding on the fundamentals of cryogenic storage and the safety features inherent in above-ground LNG tanks.
Aligned with industry standards such as API 625, API 650, and API 620, which govern large, welded, low-pressure storage tanks including LNG tanks, this course delves into the intricacies of tank design and construction without endorsing specific manufacturers or equipment. Instead, it aims to familiarize participants with the diverse array of tanks available internationally.

Mantle Consultant Associates focuses on providing advice and technical assistance primarily within the storage tank industry with our Course Leader Dr Brian Quinn having more than 40 years’ experience and expertise in the international storage tankage business industry. A Chartered Mechanical Engineer from the University of West Scotland, Dr Brian Quinn is a specialist in the use of aluminium alloys in complex Aluminium structures and has provided independent and practical advice on a complicated subject to many companies in the UK, Middle East and Asia, on the design and operation of storage tanks.
Prior to starting Mantle Consultant Associates, Dr Brian Quinn worked at Toyo Kanetsu KK (TKK) as the GM for the Middle East in Abu Dhabi, Resident Engineer of Mobil Oil based in Norway and Site Manager/Project Manager for Motherwell Bridge Engineering based in the UK and UAE.
